About Lucy Gauntlett
After 10 years working as an architect Lucy is now an interdisciplinary artist pursuing photography, design and art, based in Auckland. With both professions the fundamentals lie with composition, colour and detail.
I illustrate with my visions with photography just as a painter uses a paintbrush. There are no restrictive photographic rules with my works and I create and compose using digital layers and mixed media to 'illustrate', often using new-age digital technology intermixed with traditional methods.
I am a professional photographer (Fellow Member of the NZIPP) and produce an eclectic range of limited edition fine art prints, including signage artworks, bright collages, dream-like ephemeral works, vintage still life, beautiful bird and flower photos, as well as landscape works.
Along with limited edition artworks, I also produce custom photographic kitchen splashbacks and printed lampshades, as well as a range of large outdoor canvas artworks where the images are printed onto an outdoor vinyl and stretched around a timber frame.
My passion in photography was ignited whilst studying architecture at Auckland University. Now after 10 years working in the architectural / interior design industry, I have now embarked on my photography career full time.
