Charlotte Buskin

I am a 21-year-old artist with a passion for creating art that celebrates nature and natural beauty. I especially love painting Native birds and plants as they make me feel more connected to the ones I see around me in our beautiful country. Each time I paint one of these incredible birds I grow a bigger appreciation for the wonderful intricacy in their design.

I have always loved art from the time I was a child. Creativity runs in my family. My mother, Aunties, and Cousins all share this same love in various forms, so I have been exposed to artistic people from the day I was born. I have always felt a real need to create in some way or another. The more I did it, the more I loved it. It’s a dream come true to be able to pursue my passion as my job now.

I grew up in Dunedin, and enjoyed putting my work in exhibitions each year from the age of 13. Since then I have moved to sunny Blenheim, where I spend my days painting from home and enjoying the warmer weather.
