Roberta Queiroga

My work is created in a symbiosis between me and the canvas allowing my raw emotions to spontaneously flow with minimum interference when creating.

I was born in Brazil and have been living abroad for over 20 years. I believe my identity, and ultimately my art practice, are heavily informed by the places, cultures and people I come across such as Japan, Portugal and Aotearoa New Zealand. My background is in Architecture and I am interested in the relationship between the artwork, the viewer and the space.
