Hollie ONeill
Using abstraction while referencing both modernist formalism and minimalism I have refined my painting language in a quiet, almost reverential atmosphere that celebrates the optical and emotional aspects of luminosity.
Pushing the limits of perception through highly sensitive epoxy polymer is my commitment to employing and altering materials as a medium to channel light and observe its agency.
Deeply connected to the natural world, my paintings immerse us in an exploration of the ever-shifting play of light, colour, and space. Gifting its effects and intoxicating the viewer to observe a limitless destination.
I have been selected multiple times as a finalist for New Zealand's prestigious Parkin Drawing Prize and NZ Painting and Printmaking Award. My work is held in private and corporate collections across Australasia, North America and Europe including significant collections such as New Zealand's 'Wallace Art Trust Collection'.
I explored fine art practices while studying Bachelor of Art and Design and have been a professional Artist since 2000.
