Painting from her studio in Maraetai, Auckland, Kirsty loves to unleash colour, shape, line, and form to create refreshing, expressive abstract artworks, transporting the viewer to another place, to other memories.
Having spent much of her life travelling and living around the world, Kirsty is driven by a sense of curiosity and adventure. This stimulation and a love of art, in particular abstraction, forms the basis of her work, conveying a sense of escapade and joyful escapism.
Weaving memories with storylines and explosions of colour, Kirsty’s abstract art is like visual poetry. Instead of words and sentences, she intuitively creates a visual dance of the spirit.
A finalist in several notable Art Awards, including The Parkin Drawing Prize 2020 and the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award 2017, Kirsty’s work is exhibited widely throughout NZ. She also has a piece with The James Wallace Arts Trust.
