Photographer Amanda King’s striking prints are inspired by the subjects she encounters in the paddocks of her Hororata farm. Never work with children or animals, goes the old saying. But she has always laughed at those rules, starting out as a family photographer and, for the last four years, snapping enormous Angus bulls, bison and sheep, just to name a few.
"It is an exhilarating and calming experience all at once, standing in the fresh country air, taking in all the sounds, colours and, of course, my subjects. Usually only having seconds to manually adjust the light and composition to capture the perfect moment. "
