It's odd (although not too much so as I've heard this from others as well), but lockdown was a time of creative energy for me. With that gorgeous gift of time, I felt free to experiment with ideas and mediums. "La Vie en Rose" is not so much a reflection or statement about lockdown, but rather a byproduct of it. Yet the circles feel like bubbles - and for the most part they're separate, yet connected in blocks with a few joining (just as we stayed in our bubbles with just a very few crossing). The warmth of the pinks, oranges and yellows exude an optimism and a belief that this will pass. Or, perhaps I am seeing this all through rose-coloured glasses.
